808303 MATCH100 FINAL — ORGAnelle S2
=====================================

An expanded 808 + 303 sequencer patch with 100 matched preset slots.

QUICK IDEA
----------
• 808 presets: Pres1–Pres100
• 303 presets: PRS1–PRS100
• Use the same number for a matching drum/bass pair, e.g. 808 Pres12 + 303 PRS12.
• Switching between 808 and 303 does NOT erase the working pattern.
• Fast double-click the encoder on the active 808 or 303 page to create a virgin working pattern.
• Double-click clears only the CURRENT working pattern. It does NOT delete a saved preset unless you later SAVE over that preset.

AUX / SHIFT
-----------
On the Organelle, AUX acts as SHIFT. Hold AUX while pressing the indicated wooden key or turning the indicated knob.

MOVING BETWEEN 808 AND 303
--------------------------
Turn the encoder to select the 808 DRUMS page or the 303 BASS page.

AUX + WOODEN KEY QUICK MAP
--------------------------
The wooden keys themselves are not labelled on the Organelle, so these note names make the shortcuts unambiguous.

303 SEQUENCE / BANK KEYS (LOWER OCTAVE)
• AUX + low D = Sequence A.
• AUX + low E = Sequence B.
• AUX + low G = A+B playback mode (new MATCH100 function).
• AUX + low C = CLEAR the single 303 note at the current cursor.
• AUX + lower A#/Bb (the black key just before B) = open the 303 L/S page.

808 LOAD / SAVE KEY (UPPER OCTAVE)
• AUX + upper A#/Bb (the corresponding black key near the far right, just before the final B key) = open the 808 L/S page.

START / STOP
• AUX + the final/highest B wooden key = Start / Stop.

Once an L/S page is open, use the knobs exactly as described in the 808 LOAD / SAVE and 303 LOAD / SAVE sections below.

808 DRUMS
---------
• AUX + Knob 1 = BPM.
• AUX + the wooden page keys selects the drum/page: Bass drum, Snare, Closed Hat, Open Hat, Cymbal, Clap, Bell, Tom, FX, or L/S.
• AUX + last wooden key = Start / Stop.
• Step programming: select the drum, then use the 16 step keys to place/remove drum hits at those steps.
• Fast double-click encoder while on 808 = blank/virgin CURRENT 808 pattern.

808 LOAD / SAVE
---------------
1. Hold AUX and press the UPPER A#/Bb wooden key (black key just before the final B) to open L/S.
2. Knob 1: choose LOAD or SAVE.
3. Knob 2: choose Pres1–Pres100.
4. Knob 3: turn left/right to execute the selected LOAD or SAVE action.
5. Knob 4: DVOL = 808 master drum level.

DVOL100 is the normal reference level.

303 BASS — LIVE RECORDING + STEP EDITING
-----------------------------------------
There are two 16-step bass sequences: A and B. You can create the bass line in TWO ways:

LIVE ENTRY — while the groove is PLAYING:
• Select A, B, or A+B playback mode.
• Press the wooden note keys in real time as the sequence runs.
• The pitch you play is written into the active editable 303 bank at the current play step.
• This lets you perform and build a bass line live against the 808 groove.

PRECISE STEP EDITING — while the groove is STOPPED:
1. Select the bank you want to edit: AUX + A or AUX + B.
2. Hold AUX and turn Knob 2 to move the 303 cursor through steps 1–16.
3. Release AUX.
4. Press the desired wooden note key to write or replace the pitch at that cursor position.
5. You can repeat this for every step to build or correct the bass line precisely.

In A+B mode, playback can alternate A and B while the editable bank remains the A or B bank you selected. To edit while stopped, select A or B first, move the cursor with AUX + Knob 2, edit the notes, then return to A+B playback.

DELETE ONE 303 NOTE AT THE CURSOR
---------------------------------
1. Stop the sequencer.
2. AUX + Knob 2 = move the cursor to the step you want to erase.
3. Hold AUX and press the low wooden C key marked CLEAR.

This removes only the note at the selected step.

303 A / B / A+B
---------------
• AUX + low D = select/edit/play Sequence A.
• AUX + low E = select/edit/play Sequence B.
• AUX + low G = A+B mode.

In A+B mode, playback alternates A then B at the 16-step boundaries.
The edit bank remains the A or B bank you selected before entering A+B.

To edit a specific bank while building an A+B pattern:
1. AUX + A or AUX + B.
2. Edit that bank.
3. AUX + the A+B key again to return to alternating playback.

CLEARING THE 303
----------------
• AUX + low C / CLEAR = delete ONLY the note at the current cursor step.
• AUX + DEL = clear the sequence(s) entirely.
• Fast double-click encoder while on 303 = virgin 303 working pattern: clears working A and B and returns to A.

Important: these actions do not delete a previously saved preset file. Reload the preset to recover it unless you deliberately saved the blank pattern over it.

303 SOUND PAGES
---------------
Hold AUX and press the corresponding wooden page key:

P1 — FILTER / LEVEL
  Knob 1 = VOL (303 volume)
Knob 2 = CUT (filter cutoff)
  Knob 3 = THEQ (resonance/Q)
Knob 4 = MOD (filter modulation)

P2 — ENVELOPE / NOTE LENGTH / WAVE
  Knob 1 = ATT (attack)
  Knob 2 = REL (release)
Knob 3 = LEN (note length)
  Knob 4 = waveform: SAW / SQU / TRI

P3 — FX SEND / PITCH
  Knob 1 = DIS (distortion send/amount)
Knob 2 = DEL (delay send)
Knob 3 = REV (reverb send)
  Knob 4 = PCH (overall 303 pitch/transposition range)

P4 — FX SETTINGS
Knob 1 = TIM (delay time)
Knob 2 = FBK (delay feedback)
  Knob 3 = LOW (delay/filter low-pass setting)
  Knob 4 = VHa (reverb/hall setting)

INDIVIDUAL NOTE PITCH VS PCH
----------------------------
• The pitch of an INDIVIDUAL step is chosen by the wooden note key you press while the cursor is on that step.
• P3 / Knob 4 (PCH) shifts the overall 303 pitch range/transposition; it does not choose a single step by itself.

303 LOAD / SAVE
---------------
1. Hold AUX and press the LOWER A#/Bb wooden key (black key just before B in the lower octave) to open L/S.
2. Knob 2: choose LOAD or SAVE.
3. Knob 3: choose PRS1–PRS100.
4. Knob 4: turn left/right to execute the selected LOAD or SAVE action.
5. The screen confirms LOADED or SAVED.

A 303 preset stores Sequence A + Sequence B + 303 sound state + playback mode.

MATCHED PRESET WORKFLOW
-----------------------
For a complete groove/song idea, use matching slot numbers:

  808 Pres1 + 303 PRS1
  808 Pres2 + 303 PRS2
  ...
  808 Pres100 + 303 PRS100

808 AND 303 LEVEL MATCHING
--------------------------
• 808 DVOL100 = normal drum reference level.
• 303 VOL100 = approximately unity/reference level in this build.
• 303 VOL can be raised toward 200 for additional headroom if a bass sound needs it.
• Reduce 303 VOL if a high-resonance or distorted bass patch becomes too loud.

START / STOP
------------
Hold AUX and press the last wooden key to start or stop the sequencer.
